All tax agreements should be open to scrutiny by the public as tax is collected on behalf of the public. Any Government or Government agency that argues with this is getting a might too uppity for its own good. The IRS did the USA a disservice when it wimped out against scientology.

What bothers me more is that others in the USA Government criticise other countries for not affording scientology similar status; what business is it of theirs and what connections do the scientologists have to make them do this!? The McCarthy witch hunts for communists were against the public by the state and were wrong, however I think it is high time those in high places with ties to scientology were exposed; the fact that scientologists always act for the church first makes such people unsuitable for public office or any position of significant influence over society.
