Lest we forget -- Obama voted the exact same way as Clinton once he got to the Senate. And that's a fact he keeps forgetting to mention on his stump speeches. In fact, he would have never had it any other way, because he was busy planning a run for President the first day he entered the Chicago Legislature and entered into politics. That's one of the reasons he voted 130 times "Present". He takes the easy way out of controversial issues to protect his record. Once he got to the US Senate he was busy with the Washington "Establishment" (whom he so much reviles now) to try to get them to inlcude him on some important trips while he was trying to form a case for his run for President. One of his first backers, Tom Daschle, encouraged him to run in this window of time, meaning he does not have a blemished records to be scrutinized. This is exactly what he set out to accomplish --- to run for President without a record.
