So Dmitry Medvedev was Putin place to succeed Vlad the former KGB head. We had our own version of this, when George Bush senior, a former CIA head who was behind the movement to get his own blood to lead the Republican party back into the White House. So cease with all the talk that our system of government is so vastly different from that of Mother Russia. The power elite in this country hand picks their own to run for high political office and the people are left with little to choose from!
