Gun Control Isn't Crime Control
in response to reader comment: Gun Control is not Crime Control; My reply to Mr Abramson's direct comments

Ed says, "Let us simplify with just the summary: The ratio is 2:1. This means there are TWO successful self defense incidents for every ONE incident of firearms violence. Better?"

Let me just simplify for you Ed, with just the summary of the factual evidence in support of those of you who want more concealed weapons more easily available to more people:

None has been presented, by you or anyone else in this thread. Nor has Stossel presented any evidence for his thesis, as murky as it is.

Ed, Simply because one asserts a statistic or a "fact" does not make it true.

Let me use your example:

"The ratio is 2:1. This means there are TWO successful self defense incidents for every ONE incident of firearms violence."

You are simply stating this to be true, citing no reliable source. Actually, you have cited no source at all.

Here is an example of citing a reliable source on a related subject:

FBI crime reports indicate the vast majority of homicides involve acquaintances or relatives (75%) rather than strangers (25%).

What I'd like to see is a first class debunker to debunk professional debunkers like John Stossel.
