Reader comment on:
N.Y. Philharmonic Charms Pyongyang

Dear Mr. Herman, et al.:

Earlier today, I wrote to "America's Newsroom", at Fox News, having seen brief segments of The New York Philharmonic's performance at Pyongyang. Although I don't condemn the decision to share distinguished cultural achievement with Kim Jong II [even in his absence]; I would appreciate my thoughts being shared by you and your readers:

"Pictures often do speak louder than words--or at least are equally effective:

"Without commenting as to whether or not the Philharmonic's visit was appropriate--or beneficial; I "looked at" the performance, pursuant to FOX. The leader made himself scarce, but where did all those well-dressed, well-fed members of the audience come from? (Kidnapped South Koreans?)

"Obviously, the leader is using this as propaganda to show the world how "wonderful" his country is. Knowing that he starves his people, so that they chance their own loss of life and that of their children, by crossing the border into China--makes me cringe.

"He is one dangerous "dude", largely because he is insane--not just evil. Need I comment more?"

Nancy Joyce Jancourtz.
