Sarkozy's Brave Move

As a french young person (sorry for my poor english), I am very perplexed to read this caricatural article.

Does Mr Rosenbaum know that the holocaust is already teached in french school ? that we watch the movies "shoah" or "nuit et brouillard" or the trial movie "de nuremberg à nuremberg" at school , but only when we are a little bit older (12/13 years old) and more mature to understand ? that we read "sac de billes" or 'anne franck's diaries" at school earlier too ? that President Chirac made "les Justes" enter into the Pantheon in 2007 , and recognized then the first that french government helped arresting and killing many jews during the WWII ?

French people do feel concerned with the Shoah memory , and if they reacted against President Sarkozy about this sudden subject he made his own, it was not against the memory of holocaust ,and the particularly tragic death of many children, itself, it was against the way President Sarkozy is doing it without consulting anyone, no one from the French Educational System, no one from the " Fondation pour la mémoire de la Shoah ", no Psychologue, nobody. He thinks, as you seem too, that nothing existed before he thought about, and that he has to teach us everything.

He talks about morality and respect at school, and he insults people in public. He wants a child to personnaly care (and bear) about the tragic death of an other one 60 years ago, but what to say about today's children brutally evicted from france ?

French people reacted against his emotional immaturity & intellectual hypocrisy. Surely antisemitism remains in France, Surely the dark years of France (Vichy, Algeria, and Slavery ...) are still tabboos and need more and more light but the way President Sarkozy engaged it is certainly not the good one. and we are hoping too for a better consideration and reflexion for all these issues.
