Obama and Vouchers

You miss his point entirely. The point he makes is that while he is not in favor of vouchers now, as he believes (as most Democrats do) that they take the focus off improving public schools. And yet, he says, if new information should arise on the efficacy of school vouchers, if reliable studies were produced in which they were shown to actually improve the education system, he would consider them. In other words, he has an open mind. As a teacher and parent myself, I applaud him for his ability to consider ideas that stray from the norm of the Democratic playbook, for the good of the country. While I harbor my own doubts that any study will ever arise showing that vouchers are in fact good for the whole of the educational system, I believe our country who is in great need of a President who will consider all sides to an argument. (Something our current administration has shown a complete unwillingness to do.) "The open-minded see the truth in different things; the narrow minded see only the differences."
