Row Heats Up Over Role of Race in Campaign
in response to reader comment: Race Issue?

Submitted by Lisa Brown, Feb 21, 2008 03:35

I am a mother, single with 3 children. I have never voted or even been interested in candidates, politicalviews, policy or even the congress. Did'nt watch the President speak or even care. Why?? because I have been to busy trying to make ends meet, stretching that small $$ to cover all my needs and still raise my kids kinda like everyone else. Never considered myself a Republican, because they have always seemed to care about the concerns and the money of the rich, mostly white but it's not about race. I was already decided to vote for Hilliary, not because I found her to be of any real substance, Bill Clinton her husband, was the major role player with the regular folks and yes the black folks, in most cases you never say Hilliary during Bill's interaction with the black community. Then while looking for something on tv, my favorite flipping houses, I came across Barack Obama, a man running to be President Of The United States Of America, this is a man who lives what he says, who comes down to the people, he does'nt have to smile and act like he really cares, he is just like everyday people and when he speaks he gets the people excited about what he has to say. It carries real weight, I have stayed up nights to hear debates and really understand what is going in my America, I am registered to vote and so is my family. We are fired up about Barack, and sometimes it takes a new way of doing things to make things happen. And as long as he keeps going back to the regular people and keeping us fired up about him and what he has to say I feel he will be the next President. There are so many people that government does not hear, Barack gives a voice and he does'nt ignore us. We are taking back our stand for true equality and justice and for doing the right thing, treating people with respect and diginity. BARACK OBAMA FOR PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
