So Senator Obama wants to expand the Army? It's already being done by the Defense Department as it plays the unheard of shell game shuffling thousands of Navy personnel from Navy ship billets to their new jobs as sand sailors in Iraq.( See a recent article in Naval Institute Proceedings). Of course we have so few ships to protect our shore and the sea lanes of the world because the flyboys of this administration (Bush and Rummy) and the no nothings in Congress can't even find their way to the ocean. America has so short changed our seagoing forces, sailors and ships we now have fewer than 300 warships to patrol the planet. You bet Russia, Iran and China will be testing our weakened defenses afloat. And the blowhard congressmen and women, a weakened administration, and our citizens can't see the oceans for the waves.
