Superdelegate Says Switching Not an Option

Submitted by Babs, Feb 11, 2008 20:49

Wait, I thought that is exactly what Super Delegates are entitled to do; switch sides. As a Latina woman I am sorely disappointed that Ms. Velazquez is the one that seems to want to change the rules now. She didn't mention anything about the fact that it is ridiculous that Bill Clinton should be a Super Delegate. Has he no decency? Ms. Velazquez said that the fact that Ms. Solis Doyle is a Latina doesn't mean anything to her; and in the same manner, thousands of enthusiasts overwhelmingly voting for Senator Obama are saying that the voices of a minority of delegates in the Democratic Party do not mean anything to them. To some independents, it means so little that we refuse to vote for Ms. Clinton if the party nominates her. I would rather write in Barack Obama's name. What Ms. Velazquez seeks is an advantage for old party cronies indebted to those in power longer. It absolutely sickens me. We've had enough. WE WANT CHANGE! Not merely a skirt behind the desk, either, we want to leave posterity a dignified legacy. That disqualifies Senator Clinton who voted for this war, against immigrants' rights, and used the race under pressure tactic.
