If you haven't read the latest information about the details of the murders of Hmong that have been committed in Laos, then I encourage you to look at these comments that were made at the US Congressional Forum on Laos and Policy Briefing that was held in DC on 1/21/08. This is a recap of facts provided by Vaughn Vang, Director of the Lao Human Rights Council -this is happening NOW...not a year or two ago, but RIGHT NOW!)...These are numbers from Dec 2007 to Jan 2008: * 189 killed by Vietnamese military and Lao Gov't military troops, * 145 people have disappeared and still are not accounted for, * 75 people are wounded and there are no medical supplies to treat the wounded * At night, 2 helicopters launching missiles and chemical agents in jungle where Hmong are hiding * Vietnamese ground troops fire artillery during day * Several thousand mines have been set up * Laotian officer reports Lao PDR requesting more Vietnamese troops * Currently, there are many Vietnamese Battalions in Laos for extermination of * Hmong in jungles * 8,000 Hmong in Thai refugee camps still face repatriation to Laos to face persecution/genocide I would say that this is excellent evidence to the US government and the world of the atrocities occurring in Laos. Please help get the word out to the world. COL (R) Bill Fortier
