Brooklyn Family Sitting on $100M in Property, Air Rights

Submitted by Antonio, Feb 9, 2008 12:12

Why should a local, family-run business be praised for spending so many years in the neighborhood, if their long-term strategy is to sell retail space to Crate & Barrel and raise rents as high as possible?

I understand the fundamentals of capitalism, and I don't want to judge anyone for getting a return on their investment, but it's ruining Brooklyn, and I don't think it was supposed to be this way.

I expect this kind of behavior from an outsider like Ratner, but Pintchicks? even the neighborhood folks are helping to ruin the neighborhood.

shame on everyone.
