I can't understand why the unemployment extention was dropped to give seniors some bingo/casino money. They have their mortgages paid off and their kids grown. Also they are saturating the job market down here in Florda. The major stores IE walmart /home depot / lowes etc... are hiring 2 or 3 seniors part time to eliminate paying a man or a woman with families to support the opportunity to earn wages.You can't even get jobs at Mc Donalds down here, I'm sure Some Seniors may agree with me especially if they have adult children and grand children facing forclosure and lining up in welfare or foodstamp lines just to put some food on the table. The government has to look at this from a new perspective. Who is incurring the most debt and who has the most responsibility. Seniors have the security of retirement benefits to rely on. The unemployed are left high and dry to pitch our tents somewhere. President Bush had no problem helping the unemployed when he was up for re election 4 years ago. Now he has nothing to gain so we dont matter anymore.
