The pairing of foie gras dishes with a sophisticated Euro wine list makes the flesh of tortured geese no less disgusting. And spending nearly $1,300 to dine with your Valentine may impress your date and may flaunt your ability to spend money thoughtlessly, but it also flaunts your heartless nature and highlights your self absorption and self-centered denial. Luckily, these forms of "throwback behavior," such as foie gras, will diminish in upcoming decades as the "food traditionalists" die off and are replaced by newer genereations: younger people who respect all life and who have not been brain-washed by tradition into enacting and supporting compassionless behaviors.
