The slaughter in Chad has been going on for a long time. I think that President Bush has already characterized it as genocide. The question is why don't we do something about it? Or to put it another way , why do we rely on multilateral diplomacy and the United Nations? We're not stupid after all. The reason is that we need access to Mid-East Oil. If we did intervene we might be facing another Arab oil boycott. So we keep out of it.
