Consequence of Inaction

You are correct that it will probably take US troops to stop the atrocities in Darfur and in some ways the people of Darfur have suffered from the complications of Iraq. It has been hard for the US to commit to another difficult situation when things are going poorly in Iraq. But, much of the problem for the US is not fully understanding the world. We didn't understand that Iraq sits on the site of 1400 years of conflict between Sunnis and Shiites. We also don't really get what is going on in Central Africa and your article shows that so clearly because you can't even get the facts right. You talk like Darfur is one country and Sudan is another. It is probably just typos in your article and not really that you don't know, but still the fact is that we easily make mistakes because our understanding is very limited. I want America to do things in the world, but we have to also be sure the brightest and best are making wise decisions and maybe the rest of us need to aspire to be the brightest and best and educate ourselves thoroughly.
