Commuters Say LIRR Incident Shouldn't Affect Alcohol Policy

Submitted by Iris, Dec 19, 2006 22:09

I am very aware of the bar car situation. My husband travels to the city everyday for work and is frequently on the bar car. It is fine to have that social aspect but keep it to a minimum. Perhaps it can be open for the first 15 minutes on the train but that is it; not the whole RR commute. Yes, most people do have to drive af ter getting on the train and it is not appropriate to keep drinking and then drive after that. Everyone consumes differently and it affects them differently. It should be kept to a minimum and if that is not possible, then it should be taken out altogether.
