Three Chinese and one Russian are among the top five finalists in the latest Intel Science Talent Search and there is nothing really remarkable here except the fact that a young lady named "Katherine Banks" found her way into the monopoly that students of foreign born parents usually occupy. I am more interested in Miss Banks and how her family raised her to such academic excellence? We're pretty much aware of the educational advantages that European and Asian students have over their own born and bred American counterparts and this appaling apathy on our societies part as this truly frightening trend shows no foreseeable solution.
