Mayor Expected To Call For Education Dept. Cuts
in response to reader comment: Bloomberg calls for cuts from the Department of Education

To reply to the last two people:
1) the article refers to the NYC Department of Education, not the US Department of Education.
2) Leave it to someone from the business community to complain that they are going to have to fund education! Bloomberg went to public schools as a kid so he understands how valuable public school education is. Some who were born with silver spoons might not understand this. My message to them: Stop thinking about your wallet and start thinking about your future. One of these kids might be the overseer of your nursing home in the future. Wouldn't you want her to be able to read and make intelligent choices?

Plus, part of that extra money is coming from the State.
