In China, Exporters Use Rabbis To Reassure Consumers

Submitted by Roberta E. Dzubow, Jan 22, 2008 23:03

It's very amusing and very sad to read this article. Those of us who know the integrity of Jewish Law and Jewish Customs and respect them as the bedrock of Western Civillization have to feel the incongruity of this report. Even the Chinese have come to appreciate the value and standards the Kosher mark provides.

Kosher is a stamp of approval that many people, even many non-Jews, have confidence in - because of the purity that it represents. If only the respect for this aspect of Judaism would be extended to the Jewish People, who only want to live in peace and be productive citizens of the world.

Under an on-going wave of Arab assault and propaganda, Jews and Israelis are constantly vilified. As an example, last year, in Egypt, the most popular song was, "I Hate Israel." The Chinese will offer products with the Kesher mark upon them, the Muslims will eat food with the Kesher mark upon them - but they won't give the Israeli/Jewish world a moment of peace. Hooray for the Chinese. May their recognition of the value of a Jewish brand mark extend to the whole world.
