Following Years of Wrangling, Village, Chelsea Buildings Rise

I found this article amazing. I am just looking through some letters that my great great uncle sent my great great grandmother from New York to Ireland.I typed the address into the internet and the article came up. The date was 1864 and the address was 456 West 19th Street New York. Now the buildings are worth millions isn't life weird. My husband and I visited New York last year and just loved the vibrance of the city. Its ironic that my great great uncle could not even afford the money for the boat passage to be re-united with his sister as stated in his letters. They sadly never met again.
