That Mr. Ghandi parrots the views of so many westerners who hold leftist, elitist views of the world is not surprising, but it is entirely regrettable that the name Ghandi is assumed by so many people to mean its bearer has good intentions and possesses an unquestionable devotion to peace. In fact, no pacifist can claim to be a peace maker. Those who ostentatiously will not fight encourage the righteous to pursue their agendas through violence. It is those who assert there is nothing worth fighting for who make war inevitable, yet they are so blinded by their supposed superiority they cannot see their shame. The Mahatma was brilliant in teaching the Indians how to use civil disobedience to drive out the British Raj, but he may have mistaken that success to be proof of the perfection of his personal actions and creed. That he dabbled in Jew-hating is not a recommendation of him as a person.
