Dear GK:

Thanks for letting the American media know how they are distorting the facts about what is going on in this country. On the news, Odinga appeared, as always the media darling has to have all the limelight and said "he does not understand why police have to use live ammunition, why can't they use rubber bullets instead". Does this man stop to think why is he calling for more demonstrations - participants are usually busloads of jobless slumdwellers with specific intentions of looting and destroying the cities. The police are obviously frustrated and are using excessive force as can be seen in the news. I just heard Andrew Simmons of Aljazeera commenting that people don't want protests but kicking and screaming, we innocent citizens of this country are dragged into Odinga's battle. What battle is it anyway? Both parties rigged the polls. Set a thief to catch a thief. Why can't he and his henchmen sort it out in parliament. Anyway, Odinga's strategy appears as though he wants to cripple the Kenyan government as no economy -- means no revenue. How will the government continue to pay all the security forces in place. This will weaken their position and they may have to give in to Odinga's demands. If this is the strategy, then he is no leader as what is the point of being the President of a country he destroyed. Americans should wake up and see through the media and what is really happening in the country. One politician bent on destroying us piece by piece. If you don't believe me then read the results of the investigation carried out by the Kenya Human Rights commission. All the attacks on the displaced people were orchestrated by the politicians. I just heard on the radio that concerned citizens want to know from the Asst. Secretary of State (Fraser) who was behind the attacks. Human rights violation of that magnitude, should that not be of a greater concern when fleeing human beings were killed by machetes and their farms burnt.? Does not the burning of a church where innocent children and women were housed concern you, especially because it was organized? Yet Fraser announced that the US will freeze aid to Kenya because the elections were rigged. I am sorry Fraser does not understand the landscape of African politics. The Kenyan Government has repeatedly asked Ms. Fraser to provide proof that the elections were rigged because that statement should not just be based on allegations by the opposition. It is time that the world finds out the truth and not just what the media is portraying. What the opposition underestimated is the fact that most Kenyans are literate and knowledgeable about what is going on and the stroke of the pen is much more powerful than the blade of the machete.
