saw the opera last night-excellent singing and orchestra-

yes, the plot is grim, but the music is heavenly-the ending scene is the most beautiful aria in opera-makes me cry too........

I'm sorry that it is only playing one night-Mazeppa is an underappreciated masterpiece

only criticism-they lefy out the dance/hopak scene in the first act-often a highlight
