Reimbursement Plan Aims To Steer Patients To Family Doctors

Submitted by Art Fougner MD, Jan 14, 2008 08:01

NY's healthcare system will implode unless something is done by the legislature to enact some degree of meaningful tort reform. NY's physicians are about to be hit with a $50,000 surcharge to replenish the malpractice risk pool as well as projected 30% increase in premiums. If nothing is done, Spitzer's proposed increase will amount to a drop in the bucket. Doctors' collective practice will switch from CYA to C YA L8TR.
