Whoever originally came up with the idea that taxing the hell out of smokers will make them quit, needs to be brought out and publicly slapped!! I volunteer to personally do the slapping. Smokers are bearing the burden of huge taxes that are benefitting everyone. "Tax them to death & then thell them that they can't smoke anywhere." Sounds like a plan, right? No, sounds like massive Taxation Without Representation. Raising taxes on cigarettes does not make people quit smoking; it makes them go elsewhere to buy their cigarettes. Also, keep in mind that the people who scream the loudest for smoking bans, would be the ones crying the loudest if smoking were truly outlawed. Why? Because who do you think would have to start paying more in other taxes to make up for that loss in cigarette tax revenue? That alone, is probably why smoking has not yet been completely outlawed. What a bunch of hypocrites!!!
