Poor Risk Assessment Isiah's Downfall

Martin, a great column. But I have to disagree with your assessment of the draft side of Isiah's so-called plan.** Chandler is an unknown commodity. So let's give him an "Incomplete. But Channing Frye (drafted ahead of Bynum) has been a bust since February of 2006. Plus, Nate Robinson and Trevor Ariza appear to be headed towards non-impact role player careers.

Isiah's the same guy who drafted Marcus Camby ahead of Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash, Jermaine O'Neal, Ray Allen, and Stephon Marbury. Yes, all GMs make draft day mistakes. My point is merely that Isiah's draft record is overrated.

**I also don't like calling it a "plan," because trading for Zach Randolph, a guy almost guaranteed to stunt the growth and development of your two most important players (Curry and Lee) hardly qualifies as having a plan.
