Infantilism Of the Left

It's hard to take someone seriously who equates protesting this war with "I did everything I could to bash our country and loathe the military" but that's not my point.

My point is that the shallow thinkers on both sides make the same accusations of the other side. For example, substitute 'right' for 'left' in the following sentence and you have a legitimate accusation against the right. "The few times I have actually attempted to have a face-to-face debate with true believers on the left (right), I've come away stymied by their repetition of programmed rhetorical sound bites sprung from an irrational mantra." Programmed rhetorical sound bites? like "we have to fight them over there so we don't have to fight them here"? like "we'll be greeted as liberators" "slam dunk" and others. My guess is she's "stymied" in these discussions only because her debating skills consist only of her own programmed sound bites and irrational mantra.

And another thing: If Ms. Colon believes that the "deep divide" was born on Election Day 2000, she obviously must not have been attention before then.

And the bit equating Noam Chomsky's "brigades", whatever that means, with followers of followers of Jim Jones, is clearly an indication that Ms. Colon is more interested in being cutesy than in actually making a valid point. Chomsky inspires a lot of sentiments, but slavish devotion isn't near the top of the list, even from people who agree with him.

My guess is that Ms. Colon watches too much O'Reilly, Hannity, and Limbaugh.
