this idea is so wrong. people would be horrified if they rented out children, so why is renting out a pet acceptable? there is no guarantee that the people renting the dogs wont abuse the dogs. it is also damaging to the pet's psyche, as stated in the article. The dogs wont understand why they are being shared, and they will not understand who their real owner is, since they dont have one. This is a sick idea. I am suprised at the woman who runs this. i am also a child psychologist, and I see this idea as extremely damaging to both people and animals. Imagine the poor kid whose parents "rent" a dog for a week, and then give the dog back. it will only teach children that animals are not to be respected, that they are toys to be thrown away when you are done with them. Where did this woman get her psych degree, that she has such blatant disregard for human and animal life?! the reason that dogs and other animals are often studied in psychology is because the have feelings and emotions similar to humans. yet this woman has chosen to ignore those feelings. this makes me sick.
