The World According to Paul

Ron Paul blithely tells us that Saudi Arabia is "holy land." It is? Isn't it strange that Dr Paul, supposedly the radical libertarian in this race, manages to adopt the magical-mystery interpretation of Saudi sovereignty espoused by its monarchs--who rule the country by the divine right of kings? After espousing Saudi kings' view of sovereignty, he manages incoherently to assert that we were "occupying" Saudi Arabia after the first Gulf War when the Saudis were the ones who invited us into the country in the first place! But this is a person who thinks we solved the Cuban Missile Crisis by "talking" to the Soviets, managing somehow to ignore the naval blockade that facilitated the "conversation." Reality doesn't seem to be his forte.

How much incoherence and denial do we have to put up with from Ron Paul before the media in this country wakes up to the embarrassing fact that such a person is a major candidate for the American presidency?
