Maybe the team viewed this deal as addition by subtraction. I didnt read a single comment from any of the players. Not a "good luck", "he's gonna be a good one", "he'll be in a better environment to learn" etc.... Wonder how likely it is that the players were told, no public comments.....

On a side note, I didnt feel Wagner's comments were that negative. Fromn what I recall, he was standing up for a teammate (who was on his way out) and didnt humiliate anyone by naming names..... He didnt accuse any one individual of blowing the season. So what, he said things weren't perfect. I read alot of comments where people kept screaming what a terrible teammate he is.... I definitely disagreed with his comments about the Phillies after leaving them - that was bs. But just acknowledging that everything wasnt a-ok here wasnt reason to be ridden out of town. Remember a few seasons back we had a mgr saying, well, we sure battled..... instead of saying what needed to be done.
