Most Overrated Stat: the Triple Double

This editorial has to be one of the most absurb things that I have heard anyone say on a number of levels. Granted, 10 points is not rare. However, acheieving 10 points 10 rebounds and 10 assists in one game is one of the most rare things in basketball today. And only someone who is as ignorant as the author of this article would look past someone who had 27-9-8. No it won't come up in any statistical race but it will be recognized. Jason Kidd is a great example of this as well. He rarely breaks 20 points. Yet his value to the team is way more than that of Vince Carter's who has averaged over 25 points for the Nets. Either the author was just trying to stir up some emotions with such an outlandish claim or he watched basketball for the first time then typed this article. Either way, it is unfortunately misguided and completely incorrect.
