Latest Hot Co-op Topic: Secondhand Smoke

That's why there has been a carefully cultivated and pervasive atmousphere of "chicken little" when it comes to second hand smoke. All the scare-mongering ads of folks like NYQUITS, ASH and GASP are not brought to you by "concerned citizens" as one might expect ... but by the Billions in "sin tax" levied against smokers through a back-door agreement between CLASS ACTION LAWYERS, and TOBACCO LIABILITY INSURERS otherwise known as the Master Settlement Agreement (MSA)! The 2006 Surgeon General's report on Smoking and Health was an inflammatory SCAM - claiming the possibility of "one whiff death" for non-smokers which is totally UNFOUNDED. But it's claims having been WELL CIRCULATED - it has spawned small town and State prohibition laws across the country. (See anti-tobacco scientist Michael Siegel's blog linked at "More than a nuissance." Siegel says anti claims are HURTING their movement because they are compromising their CREDIBILITY with one factless claim after another!) Moreover - BIG PHARMA - the guys who stand to make $10 in nicotine replacement product sales for every DOLLAR they contribute (tax free!) to folks like "NYQUITS" - IS COMPLICIT in this monster scheme! State wide smoking prohibitions, which have followed in the wake of this well funded deception, have divested small businessmen and their employees of MILLIONS in income (their "private property" income) - and disenfranchised SMOKERS of their Constitutional guarantees to Free Assembly! To whit: The MSA is unconstitutional! Yet the pockets of smokers are blithely picked by legislators, year after year, because their ASSEMBLIES get to reap about HALF of the tax cash that they collect for anti groups, and are effectively treating smokers as their bottomless, and politically helpless, ATMs! FORCES Intenational recently filed a legal Complaint against the ORI (a government "science watchdog") for NOT having effected its due diligence in the case of the many bogus "scientific" claims asserted by FORMER Surgeon General Carmona in his 2006 "Report" on Smoking and Health. See: www.Forces.org and search "ORI." Much of the small business ban damage that our press has been complicit in 'covering up' can be researched in the Encyclopedia and Forums pages of www.smokersclubinc.com. Neither of the aforementioned PRIVATE and NON-Profit websites are funded in ANY WAY by big tobacco - as the MSA has stripped Big T of much of its advocating rights - so to ALL of you ANTI CARPETBAGGERS who are PAID to watch blogs like this one ... "don't even go there." And fatties beware! The same class action lawyers who 'shook down' smokers are about to go after YOUR broad backsides, using the same "charitable" treasure chests (ACS, RWJF) - so if you think GOVERNMENT INTRUSION into your personal lifestyle choices does not affect YOU - think again - 'cause you are NEXT!
