NFL Network Can't Beat Cable Industry

Submitted by Non-sports fan, Dec 6, 2007 15:03

I applaud Time Warner, Comcast, and any other cable provider who refuses to "bow down" just because it is the NFL. I have watched maybe 2 football games in the last 3 years as I have other things to do with my time and my life. So if this channel is put on the expanded basic my cable bill would increase for something I wouldn't even use.

Now let's take all those on a fixed budget that could not afford a cost increase, or how about those like myself that are not sports fans that could care less about this network? Why should we receive an increase in bill for those that do want these programs? I agree with the idea of Time Warner and Comcast to place this on a seperate tier of service for those that wish to have the service. They can pay for the service and receive the games. Along with allowing the fans that want the games to have them, the NFL will be able to properly track who actually wants this network instead of a broad figure of each cable provider's subscription base.

WIth this idea each of those involved all wins, the fan gets there games, the non-fan doesn't have to pay for something they have no interest, the cable companies are able to offer the channel to fans, and the NFL gets proper numbers for how many are actually interested in the programming.

Stand tough Time Warner, Comcast, and others that are fighting against the NFL regime thinking they can bully us into what they feel we want on our television and in our homes.
