Make English Official

Saw a link to this article at www.polijam.com English should certainly be the official language of the US, and all official government communications (other than those related to safety) should be made in English. Earlier this week, during NPR's Democratic Candidate debate, the candidates were asked about governmnent communications in languages other than English. The questioner objected to the "press 1 for English, 2 for Spanish" before routing phone calls made to government offices. Both Obama and Clinton wanted to maintain this practice. Clinton said that over 100 languages are spoken in NY. I noted however, that by that logic we should have press1 for English, 2 for Spanish, 3 for Chinese, etc. Somehow Spanish is being treated differently, and I am truly concerned that soon Spanish will become the official language.
