England Falls to The Melody Makers

Excuse me but in the 1980s the rock music scene was divided between classic rockers on one side and punk and new wavers on the other. People who listened to Sonic Youth associated with, dated and went to shows with people who listened to New Wave and various punk. The other side still listened to Zeppelin and the Who. Classic Rockers did't favour Sonic Youth just because Sonic Youth use guitars. Huey Lewis was in the pop sector. That's a different cultural catagory and doesn't belong in your thesis.
