Annapolis was a dismal failure, and everyone knows it.

Instead of having many closed door sessions, between Israel and the Palestinians, to iron out an agreement under UN242, THEN bringing the document to a so-called summit, now we will witness a repeat of camp David.

To be blunt, the Palestinians will not budge one inch on their demands that Israel go back to the Auschwitz borders, allow 5m more Muslims to live in Israel, and return the Golan Heights to Syria. All of the aforementioned without any guarantee of peace, or normal relations. Jerusalem will never be divided again.

The snub that the Arab world gave to Israel's foreign minister Livni, is representative of the Arab attitude for 100 years, and is as true today as when the UN debated the creation of two states, one Jewish, the other Muslim. It says everything.

Withdrawing the resolution should have been followed up by the US admitting Annapolis was unwise and pre-mature AND A MISTAKE. There is still time.
