While i agree with the article written on Ms. De Niese.I do disagree on the comparisons of both Elizabeth Schwarzkofpf and, the great Geraldine Ferrar..
Ms.De Niese is neither close to both in voice, personality and Looks..
I have seen Ms.De Niese in person.I have heard and seen her perform live.i have also heard her via her new Handel Cd. Live and in person the voice at best is ok ...nothing special..on the stage this is where she comes alive..she looks great visually..She is a great physical beauty..that is where it ends..

When one listens to her Handel Cd..All you hear isher screaming....She lacks the tools of the great artists you mentioned and compared her to.
When i say tools..i mean the ability to change color in the voice..there is no use of Piano in the voice..dynamics..she possesses none..
Let us then compare her to the great Lorraine Hunt Lieberson..which by the way ...she fails in comparison to Mrs.Lieberson ... true--they are 2 different voice type..but ... My god ... What a voice..What technique.and commitment to the music ... I would rather pay $20 dollars for ms.Lieberson than $12.99 for Ms.De Niese.... Why waste the money?
The singers you compared her too would roll over in their grave...Both possessed amazing technical voice skills...and was dedicated to the art of singing..
When does showing your tits and shacking your ass become art...
Excuse me..but i don't think that she is the greatest singer alive...i would not even go so far as to call her an artist...At best she is only eye candy!!
She is under great management ... and they are pushing her to be this great star of Opera ... Only time will tell ...i f the voice caves in under pressure or blooms ... i do wish her good luck ... and hope she develops into a more serious artist ... and learn the tools that are required for great singing...
