As an American Anglican and a "Truman democrat", I despair at the fate of the world if the world's religious leaders were REALLY in charge. Statecraft is not theology. A Hollywood icon is not a foreign policy expert -neither is a leading spiritual voice like the good Dr. O. W. Frankly, I was far more impressed with the policy acumen of one of the Archbishop's parishoners, Tony Blair. We Yanks may not enjoy moral perfection, but - as many have noticed - the Brits aren't speaking German at the moment. JBG www.jaygaskill.com .
