The Great Escape

The loss of the Lancastria with 4000 lives on 17th June 1940 was the biggest blow to the British of the war but Churchill covered it up. The biggest online archive dedicated to the victims is available at www.lancastria.org.uk

As the grandson of a survivor we are trying to persuade the current British Government to recognise the sacrifice and designate the wreck an official war grave, so far they are refusing to.

You can sign a petition in support of this at the website.

Thank you
