'Do Do That Voodoo That You Do So Well'

While it's admirable that Mr. McWhorter is trying to emulate Mark Steyn, there is one thing he doesn't quite grasp. Steyn's well-deserved popularity stems not from his having been to several shows or witnessed a few revivals of Broadway musicals, or merely "followed the anniveraries" of some others. The difference is Steyn's amazing depth and breadth of knowledge on the entire subject, replete with innumerable interesting anecdotes that go along with it. When you add to that his unmatchable writing style and wit, you have one-of-a-kind. I know of no one else writing today who could churn out anything close to his terrific Song(s) of the Week series, which makes every Monday morning a time for new discovery on his SteynOnline web site. All I can say is 'Nice try, John.' Ahem, indeed.
By the way, many thanks for the link to the BlueGobo website. It's wonderful.
