The real problem is not with the taxes- it is with the public sector demanding more resources. The 'protected' employees are under productive- thus it takes more of the to get things done. They are accountable to few- unknown to most AND if they don't spend all their budget- it gets cut so they spend willy-nilly and beg for more, FOR THE CHILDREN. Public schools fail with ever more dollars. Gov't offers more programs and adds to existing programs that overlap and yet fail to deliver except to their own public programs. It is really welfare to the middle class.
Yet even this foolishness is overlooked- Look at the uncollected taxes, hundreds of billions annually. Look at subsidies to foolishness. Look at 'earmarks', look at tax free munis exempting the really rich,

As Regan said government is not the answer-it is the problem.
