We pro-life Democrats remain in the Democratic Party and continue to fight for the rights of the unborn. I am not willing to support a political party that opposes health care for children, weakens collective bargaining rights and allows our jobs to be shipped overseas. It is never a good idea to put all of your eggs in one basket, but that is exactly what many pro-lifers have done by embracing the Republican Party and attempting to demonize all Democrats. There is a national organization of pro-life Democrats known as Democrats for Life www.democratsforlife.org Catholic and other pro-life Democrats can move the party in a more pro-life direction. A pro-choice Republican is the front runner for his party's 2008 Presidential nomination - further proof that pro-lifers have a lot of work to do in both parties.
