Dylan Plugs In And Rocks Out

I wrote a song called "I'm Not There" in the 1980's that went unrecorded. I wish there was a way to trademark titles. Nonetheless, I am a big Todd Haynes fan. I also know that his only terrible movie was also about old school rock music ("velvet goldmine", wherein ewan mcgregor won that year's Oscar (tm) for "Miscasting" among other egregious phallacies--pun intended if you know enuff about altrock icons to compare him w/Iggy Pop). "Safe" on the other hand was the second best USA movie of the 1990's, "Poison" was revolutionary, and "Far from Heaven" inspired suburbanites to rent Sirk dvds to check out the real deal. Curious to see what this Dylan flick adds up to...but i must add, why is he so much interesting to moviemakers than at least 100 singer-songwriters of his generation who were more interesting than he was? At his best, Dylan was excellent or even great, at his worst insufferable or terrible, but at any rate he depended very much upon his backup bands in the 1965-1970 era to formulate magic from his amphetamine-addled lyrics and good but routine pop hooks...when will we be seeing a Phil Ochs biopic or a Joe Meek biopic as long as the market's hot for that stuff? Anyways, I hope every Todd haynes movie is profitable whether it's good or not because he's artistically courageous and the flicker industry needs folks like him in order to survive in the 21st Century...
