Let's Let the Armenians Rest

Fact: History is not a beauty contest to be determined by popular vote.

Fact: History must be determined by a review of the true and complete record. It is a travesty of justice that Armenia continues to refuse to open its archives without any condemnation by other nations, especially those nations considering "genocide proclamations." It is also to be condemned that the Armenian Diaspora overwhelmingly supports concealing those archives, which document their own nefarious activities during the period in dispute.

Fact: There are a number of documents that Armenians continue to present as proof of genocide even though all historians, except those that are Armenian, dismiss as "notorious forgeries."

Fact: To motivate the U.S. to enter WWI, British intelligence services engaged in a massive misinformation campaign and produced the "The Blue Book." The British believed if U.S. citizens thought Christians were being massacred in droves by "Musselmen" they would thereby be immediately incited to enter the war. Historians agree The Blue Book is not a legitimate source of evidence. Armenians continue to present the Blue Book of deliberate misinformation as proof of genocide.

Fact: While the Ottoman archives in Turkey are open and available to the public, Armenia's archives remain closed.

Fact: EU countries asked Turkey to accept that a genocide occurred. In response, the Prime Minister of Turkey invited Armenia to form a joint commission, including impartial third party experts, to examine all archives, including archives of EU member states, the U.S. and Russia. He promised if the commission concluded a genocide had occurred, Turkey would make reparations. Armenia still refuses to open its archives and will not respond to the request. The U.S., England, France and Russia continue to conceal documents related to these events.

Fact: The Ottoman archives document the massacres of over 524,000 Ottoman Muslims in southeastern Anatolia by Armenians between 1915-1918.

Fact: Russian archives available contain eyewitness accounts of brutal massacres of Turks by Armenian militias.

Fact: Armenians, with the aid of Russia, intended to ethnically cleanse the entire southeastern portion of Anatolia of all Turkic Muslims to form a racially pure "Greater Armenia" in the region—continuing the ethnic cleansing of Muslims the Russians and Armenians began in the 1800s in the Circassian territories. This is why Armenia refuses to open its archives—to deprive Turkey of evidence the relocation of Armenians was a justified defensive action.

Fact: The Ottoman regime had little to no control over the southeastern region as WWI progressed. Repeated orders issued from Istanbul to stop relocating Armenians were ignored and could not be enforced.

Is this Resolution a pursuit of the truth? Or, is it a pursuit of unadulterated vengeance and restitution of lands that Armenian revolutionary forces could not obtain by conventional war?

Certainly, legislative proclamations made without access to all pertinent archives leaves the impression that those involved are more interested in coercing Turkey for political purposes and pursuing illegitimate leverage with more than half the facts concealed.
