If by 'ready for it's close-up' what is meant is 'pipes exposed and holes in walls."

"we've had more people in here than I can tell you." (unlikely. the brokers were invited and must go to the front desk before showing apartments. However there are a seemingly endless group of contract workers traipsing through the building--including weekends)
