in response to reader comment: muticulturalism--a real pile of it

Submitted by Paul Morris, Oct 20, 2007 00:54

I would venture to say that the word torpor, defined as "a1 a: a state of mental and motor inactivity with partial or total insensibility", would sum up quite nicely the state at which most western democracies has arrived. Multiculturalism and political correctness are only symptoms of a larger problem Mark Steyn addresses in "America Alone" and his online writings - that the moral and spiritual vacuum in which most of them exist today, has no lasting appeal to inspire anyone ... heck if hedonism, materialism, existentialism, secular humanism , or relativism could inspire on par with Wahhibism, the latter would be almost extinct by now. But instead, more and more, especially young persons, are being drawn to the radical religion and its promise of however many virgins in paradise in exchange for rigorous self-denial in the present world. Here in Canada, the multicult society is fast-tracking us to a future devoid of founding heritage.
