If losing 80% of your starters in one offseason occurs, you must do something (other than the execrable signings of Pavano and Wright) to replace them. Here we are 4 offseasons later and those losses still haunt the Yanks' postseasons. For all the talent assembled yearly on the field, you win in the postseason with pitching, starting and relief. It also wouldn't hurt to have a bench, either, but for the first time this year, and only for the 2nd half, did management present Joe with anything that could be considered major league backups. With all that taken into consideration, they want to fire JOE?!?!? Everybody else, from Steinbrenner on down bears responsibility here, not Joe.
