Dalai Lama fled to India in 1959 and China never claims India as part of its territory. Similarly, Chiang Kai-shek fled to Taiwan in 1949, and China should not claim Taiwan as its territory either. Taiwan was ceded permanently to Japan by Ching Dynasty 112 years ago. Japan renounced Taiwan 56 years ago. Taiwan is now a democratic country.
