Acknowledging The Armenian Genocide

Kudos to Mr. Ibrahim's "Acknowledging The Armenian Genocide" on Oct. 15. He is perfectly right in recognizing that this resolution goes beyond just responding to Armenian-American pleas. It would establish the right moral tone for the US whose reputation has been wrecked throughout the world for some of its action in Iraq. This is no different than the numerous proclamations recognizing the Holocaust and Kristalnacht. After all, the current German government did not commit those crimes but it does not prevent them for recognizing the crimes of the Nazis and they don't arrest people for simply talking about these crimes. It would be wonderful if the current Turkish government would also simply admit what its previous government did to the Armenians (and Assyrians) and move ahead as the German government has done. Regards, Harry
